The brown, spiny dorid <em>Acanthodoris brunnea</em>. Collected in sand off of Steinbeck Plaza near the anchors used by the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club for their racing buoy in Monterey Bay, CA. About 40 ft deep. Lighter and darker morphs. It is unclear if these two were attempting to mate.
